Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints is awarded with an Honorable mention of the International Photography Awards with Orionid image.
On the image is pictured both the crown of northern lights and the small meteor from Orionids meteor shower. It’s always very interesting to see what’s happening in the sky while it’s dark on Earth.
The whole new world is up there, just look up!

KhaOs gallery present the new exhibition “Somewhere to Swim”,
at KhaOs art space in Montjuïc, Barcelona, Spain, featuring artist and photographer Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints.

the new exhibition “Somewhere to Swim” is held at her Franco-Spanish art space of Montjuïc from September 15th until December 31st, 2021.
The collection features artist Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints’ bare pools photographs.

The Story is about the symbolism of the scars of the lockdown, emptiness, and the movement of water captured, frozen in space and time. An allegory of a world paused contrasting perpetual motion where Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints’ eerie photographs of bare pools.

Photographer and contemporary artist, Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints visited numerous British hotels during spring 2020 lockdown but all she found were lone receptionists, fences and endless emptiness. Anna’s photographs of swimming pools are symbols of an industry collapsed and inevitable decay. “When the pandemic first hit, we thought, ‘it will be over soon’ but, as one-by-one the countries of the world closed their doors, we became prisoners.  

Freedom has been replaced by fear and immobility.” says the London based artist. (Featured in The Telegraph)

Waterfall by Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints is at Royal Museums Greenwich

Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints is shortlisted in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year 13th competition with a “Waterfall” image.
The image will also be included in the book and exhibition at Royal Museums Greenwich on September 16th and will be exposed for a year at Royal Museum Greenwich London.

Astronomer Annie Jump Cannon said, “The stars are like windows into the past, allowing us to see how the universe has evolved over billions of years.” Through her project Zero F*cks Given, Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints explores the lengths one can travel merely by looking up.

By raising our focus to the heavens, Dobrovolskaya-Mints asks that her audience open their eyes to the beauty of the universe and re-examine our relationship with the world around us. Her photographs offer us a way to heal, a moment of calm and an escape from a global chaos, which is manifested though the noise of mass digital information.

Dobrovolskaya-Mints photograph’s shifts our focus away from the violence that we inflict on each other and up into the cosmos. Her work reminds us that we are all made of stardust, joined in a universal family, whilst we gaze at the universe that bore us.

Dobrovolskaya-Mint’s work with digital photography loosens the bonds between the medium, the image, and its fragments and by doing so she clarifies a purpose in the face of uncertainty and confusion. She engages with these specific characteristics of digital photography according to her inner artistic vision of creating photographs that stare up into the soul of the universe and connecting with the objective reality of the cosmos, free from the subjective noise of human affairs.

Humankind may be celebrated by their differences, but we all look at the same stars.

The campaign 100 PHOTOGRAPHERS FOR BERGAMO

Dear friends!

Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints recently participated in an important activity.

A photographic project Perimetro with our partner LinkeLab and charity organization Liveinslums Onlus organized a charity campaign to help Bergamo’s Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital. As we know, Bergamo is the most affected area in Italy and they urgently needed funds. 100 photographers from around the world gave away their photos for just 100 euro. A splendid manifestation of solidarity across borders! Anna supported the campaign and donated her work for sale. Among the other participants were authors such as Paolo Roversi, Michael Ackerman, Steve McCurry, Ami Vitale, and many other great names. The campaign was spread all around the media world, we are thankful to National Geographic for their support on the Russian side. Due to the contribution of donors and the generosity of the photographers involved in this project, the organizers have reached an unexpected and extraordinary milestone: € 727,600.00.

The organizers have already begun purchasing the equipment necessary for the doctors of the intensive care and resuscitation department of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo. Given the result of the campaign, in agreement with the doctors of the ward, they do not rule out expanding their help to other departments of the same hospital also strongly hit by the COVID-19 emergency and to new hospitals. collection of t-shirts dedicated to the process of comprehending the new technological reality

Having exhausted itself by deep immersion in technology, humanity seems to have received a break on purpose – time to shift attention from external functions to internal processes. It is an opportunity to create new values, or rather to rethink old ones.

To understand that the things, which seem normal and ordinary to us at the moment, will become luxury in the new reality: time, physical presence, tactile contact, conscious feelings.

The collection released by photographer Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints and artist Anton Bundenko.
Both artists deal with the issue of overloading the information field and how the human consciousness adapts to it: critical thinking, escapism, integration.

Anna and Anton worked completely remotely.

They continued to explore the boundaries of themselves, the surrounding reality and the processes in it. The result of this collaboration is a limited edition of T-shirts. Clothing emphasizes the outer boundaries of the physical body, makes them denser and more tangible, and becomes the armour of a digital warrior. On them, as if on a device screen, everything that excites a person and everything he expresses to the outside world, is broadcast. The T-shirts not only allow us to draw the line between ourselves and the surrounding reality, but become a reflection of our emotions, a platform for speaking out and a switch between external and internal.

All T-shirts are numbered and attributed with labels, each will be accompanied by a certificate with a hologram. 100% cotton. Hand screen and thermal transfer printing.

Authors

Photographer Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints (or ADM) is a member of group exhibitions in Russia, including “Best of Russia” and
“Silver Camera”. In 2019 she presented her first solo exhibition ZERO F * CKS GIVEN at the Photobastei gallery (Zurich, Switzerland). Participant of the charity project “100 PHOTOGRAPHERS FOR BERGAMO”, the auction of the Sozidanie charitable foundation, and the international photography fair MIA Photo Fair. In 2018, Dobrovolskaya-Mints created the ADM Photo organization, which represents her as a photographer and also produces her collaborations with contemporary artists. Anna is the actual ambassador for the Swiss camera manufacturer ALPA of Switzerland.

Anton Bundenko is an artist and founder of Futureisnown, a multimedia project that explores the interaction between technology and humans. Participant of the parallel program of the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, group exhibitions MMOMA, GalerieOlivier Robert, Smirnov and Sorokin Foundation, presented the Futureisnown project at the Multimedia Art Museum, the State Center for Contemporary Art, Moscow Urban Forum, @ dear_progress showroom, @airmoscow concept store and others subcultural exhibitions.

The artists abandoned synthetic materials. Laboratory-grown polyester, nylon, acrylic and other synthetic fibers, even during exploitation, pollute the world’s oceans with microplastics, and they disintegrate in the soil for decades. Therefore, all T-shirts are made from natural cotton – a fabric that in the future may be replaced by artificial counterparts, despite the fact that it is one of the most pleasant materials for human skin.
